If they are old enough where Directv doesn’t want them back, go to www.directv.com/recycle or a local electronic recycling center. HDDVRs (HR20 and up) do work with then Genies (HR34/HR44/HR54), but not the Genie-2 (HS17), so if you have a Genie upgrade don’t end up with replacing HDDVRs with Mini Genie Clients.
