Why is it called Lees Ferry?
The ferry gained its name from John Doyle Lee, who settled there in 1871. State historian Marshall Trimble says Lee started the ferry after being gifted a boat from John Wesley Powell , the one-armed Civil-War-veteran-turned-geologist who was doing serious explorations of the Grand Canyon.
Is Lees Ferry catch and release only?
