What does Lph mean on a fuel pump?
liters per hour
Electric fuel pumps for EFI applications are rated in liters per hour, or lph. Factory electric fuel pumps can flow around 180-190 lph in early EFI cars, and high-performance, late-model Vette pumps can flow more than the popular “255-lph” aftermarket fuel pumps.
What does 255lph mean?
255 liters is the volume of fuel that the pump will flow at 40 psi. While this is a more accurate rating than a free flow rating, the 255 lph rating is only accurate if you are running your engine at 40 psi and your pump is being supplied with 13 volts. Sometimes pumps are rated based on pressure.
How many amps does Walbro 450 draw?
This pump has a high current draw so requires fresh fuel pump wiring all the way through that can cope with up to 30 amps current draw.
Does Walbro 450 have check valve?
Yes, most of our pumps have check valves.
How many amps does a Walbro fuel pump draw?
Fuel pump flow rate and current draw at 13.5 volts
Pressure (psi) | 190 ltr/hr fuel pump (gal/hr) | “high pressure” 190 ltr/hr pump (amps) |

What is the normal fuel pressure?
It is between 35 and 65 pounds per square inch (psi) on most vehicles.
What Lph pump do I need?
Water Circulation Factors It is recommended that pond water is circulated at least once per hour. For example, if you have a 500-gallon pond, you need a pump that runs 500 GPH at the height of the discharge. This is true if it also has a skimmer or waterfall.
How much fuel flow do I need?
Minimum flow rate needs can be calculated by multiplying peak horsepower by BSFC. This will give you fuel usage in lbs./hr. For example: A naturally aspirated 500 horsepower engine has a BSFC of about 0.5.
How do you calculate fuel pump flow?
How do I know what flow rate I need?
- 500 X 0.5 = 250 lbs./hr. A gallon of fuel weighs 6 lbs. To get gph divide lbs./hr. by 6.
- 250 lbs./hr. ÷ 6 = 41.67 gph. A liter of fuel weighs about 1.6 lbs.
- 250 lbs./hr. ÷ 1.6 = 156.25 lph. You need the minimum flow rate at your fuel system’s operating pressure.
How do you calculate pump capacity?
The volume of water metered must be divided by the time during which the volume was measured to determine the flow rate. For example, the meter register reads 200.0 gal at the beginning and 395.0 gal at the end of a 10 minute measurement period. Then the flow rate is (395-200) gal / 10 min = 19.5 gpm or 1.23 lps.

What are the parts of a Walbro 450 drawing pump?
Due to the design the Walbro 450/470 are some of the highest amp drawing pumps in their class. Includes all the same parts as the “Basic Install kit” along with a length of power wire, ground wire, 30 amp inline fuse, 40 amp relay, 4-lead relay socket with pigtails, and the install instructions.
What is the difference between a 400lph and a 450 pump?
The 450,450 High Pressure, and 525 (470) are all identical dimensionality. The 400 is a slightly longer body, and does not have the integrated harness. The 400lph (F90000262) is the older style 400lph pump good for pump gas applications only, and not really used as much anymore with the addition of the 450s.
