Is French Quarter Fest free?
French Quarter Fest is free and FQF offers three tiers of access: FQF is free and open to the public. To keep it that way, please leave outside beverages, glass containers, fur babies and weapons at home — we do reserve the right to check bags at all stage entrances.
Will French Quarter Fest 2021 happen?
In both 2020 and 2021, the French Quarter Festival, like the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, initially postponed its usual springtime festival to the fall, in the hopes that COVID infection rates would recede. Also like Jazz Fest, the French Quarter Fest ended up cancelling its fall dates as well.

Dozens of food and beverage vendors will also return to the historic French Quarter to serve the estimated 800,000 people who are expected to attend the event. In total, the festival has an economic impact of roughly $190 million.
What Do you Do at French Quarter Fest?
The Fest celebrates local music and represents every genre from traditional and contemporary jazz to R&B, New Orleans funk, brass bands, folk, gospel, Latin, Zydeco, classical, cabaret, and international. It’s a medley, and a great way to sample the local music scene.
How long does the French Quarter Festival last?
Over 20 stages take over the French Quarter throughout the three-day weekend, starting early in the day and going on through the night. Festival goers will hear jazz, Latin, R&B, zydeco, New Orleans funk, swing and rock throughout the Quarter.
What time does French Quarter close?
This New Orleans mainstay offers French-Creole cuisine. It is located at 713 St. Louis Street. They are open 11 am – 2 pm and 5 pm – 9 pm Thursday through Monday, except Sundays, where they’re open from 10:30 am – 2 pm.
Why is the French Quarter Festival celebrated?
French Quarter Festival was first produced in 1984 as a way to bring residents back to the Quarter; following the World’s Fair and extensive sidewalk repairs in the French Quarter. More than 1,500 community volunteers help to make the festival a success.
Can you bring chairs to French Quarter Festival?
The answer is yes. However, we encourage our festival friends who bring chairs to respect other attendees and not block walkways or the stage. If the crowd gets too thick, we ask that you consider packing up to enjoy the live music dancing on your feet. It’s for your safety and those around you.

While the French Quarter is probably most famous for Bourbon Street, there’s so much more to see. There are countless museums and historic sights to visit. There are also many local restaurants and establishments that bring the spirit of New Orleans to life.
