Lidl’s offer was German Gluhwein rather than mulled wine, but the ingredients are almost identical. The taste however was a major improvement. Less sweet, full-bodied, hints of vanilla, a zingy after-taste. And at 8.7% the alcohol comes through to give it a proper Christmas flavour too.
