A Princess Named Leroy is the alter ego of international recording artist F.Stokes. Conceptualized during a series of writing sessions with English rock band Bastille, A Princess Named Leroy is a vibrant display of musicality, theatre, fun, and optimism. Leroy poetically captures the essence of life in the ghetto using the evolution of Hip-hop, Funk, Spoken word and House music as its sonic backdrop. The EP follows Leroy's dream of becoming a star in Paris as he navigates the treacherous terrain of the South Side of Chicago - a concrete jungle populated by pimps, drug addicts, gangsters and lovers. Crafted to inspire, enlighten and encourage, A Princess Named Leroy is a beautiful and brilliant celebration of the 80's.
A Princess Named Leroy is primarily produced and engineered by Man Mantis, with features from Jeff Kite of Julian Casablancas and The Voidz, British alternative Hip hop musician and producer Dobie, actress Phyllis Cicero, Paper Tiger of Doomtree, and Paris based funk band Super Social Jeez.
